Page 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

This horse is named "Call Me Rusty Blue" - his nickname is Rusty. He was born May 7, 2007 north of Yankton and is a weaning colt. He is one of the two horses that the Ag I class will be working with this year. Skills that will be taught and learned include leading, safe handling, trailering, and tying. Pictured below are Freshmen Ag I students with Rusty.

The picture below was taken August 18 at the Vanderpoel Quarter Horse Ranch north of Yankton. Rusty is pictured here with Debbie Vanderpoel, the owner from which he was purchased.

Here are some Ag I students working with Rusty on trailering.

Rusty is seen below visiting the Preschool students.

The Freshman Ag I students learned to bridle and saddle a horse on September 5. Each class member listened to instructions on saddling and bridling, and then completed the task.

The class practiced on last year's horse Toothpick, shown below, before they try out their skills on the inexperienced horses they will be training this school year. Toothpick was the horse the last year's Freshmen class trained in the school year 2006-2007.
