Philosophy of
Homework
Homework is a valuable tool in the learning process; it is a natural extension of the work students complete in class. Homework provides opportunities to apply learning and to experience necessary practice. It develops student responsibility and accountability by developing work habits essential for succeeding in life. Homework also offers parents and students the opportunity to be involved in and support the learning process outside of school.
Grading Policy
I use total points to find the student's average. In middle school, 50% of their grade will be on daily work and the other 50% is quizzes and tests. In high school, 40% of their grade is daily work and the other 60% is quizzes and tests. The grading scale is in the school handbook for middle school and high school classes. Extra credit is given at the end of each chapter and availably by doing extra accelerated math problems. My
grades will be posted by 4:00 p.m. every Thursday on the Parent Portal.
