School Directory : Mrs. Unterbrunner

Mary Unterbrunner - Assistant Cook Mary Unterbrunner grew up on a farm near Iroquois. She is the oldest of 9 children, with 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Her husband Charlie is one of 12 kids. Mary and Charlie have 7 kids and 6 grandkids of their own. Mary enjoys gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, walking and waterskiing. She is also the CCD director and Confirmation teacher in her church and a member of SD Right to Life. Mary was a stay at home mom for 25 years, helping with field work and milking cows.  She began subbing occasionally in the kitchen in the Artesian School in 1998. When her youngest child went into 1st grade in 2001, she became the assistant cook. Mary says that school is a great place to work because you get to be around kids and also get to have summers, weekends and holidays off!
